I need an easy way to learn how to set up automatic turn off. I am terminally ill and and only 51 yrs old. Kind of sucks. But I would like sometimes to go to bed and watch something on the computer before falling asleep, but would like to be able possibly have it turn off like after a couple of hours. I'm not looking for precise times just hours.

Can you or will you be to send me the easiest way to do this?

Thank you in advance for your help.

There IS a way to do it, but I'm not positive where it is, exactly.

Are you looking to set a schedule, or just a timer? If you want a schedule, it's built into windows - if you want a timer, there's a multitude of software options that should do it for you.

you can do it by your self..

open the notepad , type this

shutdown.exe -s -t 3600

then save as .bat file.. (for example 1hour.bat)

3600 is second, so that's mean, if you execute this bat, your computer will shutdown in 1 hours..

you can make other .bat file for 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours..and save it as
1hour.bat, 2hours.bat, 3hours.bat..
and execute it depend on the time that you want to shutdown your computer...:)

better to use

shutdown -f -s -t 1000

shutdown - is shutdown command
-f tells it to forceclose programs/apps. otherwise some programs can stop it shutting down
-s tells the program to shutdown pc
-t tells it how long to wait before exicuting command

type

shutdown /? and it will tell you all the commands

or easier method if you are downloading a steam game etc then install teamviewer then shut it down using phone to connect to pc to shut it down
