nope not planning to overclock. but i plan to game and i was wondering an estimate on how long it will be able to play the newest games at a decent framerate. may i ask why you prefer lite-on over LG? i just got LGs cuz they were on sale.

Dude if I decided not to buy something just because I had a problem with some product from that company in the past, there would be a very very short list of companies that I could purchase from. I have the LG DVD drive and it is one of the quietest drives I’ve ever owned, not to mention it can read almost any pooped on disk. I’ve heard they have some problems with compatibility with the R+ format, but 80% of the drives out there have the same problem and it only effects 10% of the DVD players out there. Just loose the 9mb and just use the R- format.

Dichromatic for your viewing plesure...

I also have had 2 LG cd/rws die on me.

Check out a combo DVD/CDRW drive if you can as that'll save you some cash, then maybe go for 1GB DDR; it makes a nice difference.

Some day I'll be rich and famous for inventing a device that allows you to stab people in the face over the internet.
