Samsung monitor 203

Keep getting message that my monitor is not set at optimum level 1600 X 900. Tried everything I know but have had no luck. called Samsung and was told a new driver was being developed but was not yet available. Called Gateway and they told me I needed to install a new graphics card. BS!
