This may seem strange but something is blocking me from viewing certain
aspects of websites. For example I recently worked on my staff website for
the company I work for and I put lot of banner ads on to it. When I went to
look at the site myself I could see only 2. I had a few other people check
the site however they could see all the ads. I have tried using a different
browser and checked everything I can think of but I am now at a complete
loss. If you guys can offer any help it would be greatly appreciated.

Operating System: Windows XP Home SP2 (fully updated according to
Microsoft update site)
Security: Norton Internet Security (fully updated according to Norton's Live
update)
Browsers tried:
IE version: 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519
Mozilla Firfox: 1.06
Netscape: 8.0.3.3

P.S. Have also posted this query to the windowsxp.help_and_support newsgroup
with no response. It is really frustrating as it is stopping me from doing
my work.

What technologies are being used to display these ads? If
they use Java, you need to have a java virtual machine
installed- it is no longer included with Windows

Are you getting the "This Page Cannot Be Displayed" placeholder instead of
the banners?

If so, then I would suggest running HijackThis (free download) and then look
at the results through an online log analyzer available here:
http://www.hijackthis.de/index.php?langselect=english

I had this problem and found it to be a program my son have downloaded
called Groove3D - removing it fixed all. This was after checking (and
resetting to defaults) all the IE Options in Tools.

Be careful with HijackThis....there are no "safety" features- it will "fix"
whatever you tell it to. Remove the wrong item and you can really screw your
system up.

Good Luck,
Fitz

What I am seeing is just 2 ads instead of the 12 that are actually there. No
new programs have been downloaded and no settings have been altered. Long
story as to why im putting banner ads on a company staff website.

You got any ad blockers running? Norton, SP2 etc?

Thanks,
Turns out that the new security program installed had turned on the ad
blocker in a new update. Thank you for all your help with this problem.
