  1. That is definitely odd, have you scanned your computer for any malware? When did you notice this problem begin?
  2. Did you install any other programs around the same time this started happening?
  3. Hi :)

Bring up a CMD window with administrator rights and type in the following...

    SFC /SCANNOW

Then press enter, it will check the integrity of your windows files and may ask for your windows disc if it finds any bad files...

P.S there is a SPACE between the C and the /

    All the best Brett :)
  4. i am using avast and the scan resulted some viruses :
    1.java:siggen-A[trj]

    4.win32:malware-gen
    5.pup:win32:pup-gen[pup]
    6.wma:wimad[drp]
when i tried to delete or repair these viruses it showed
error:the system can't find the file specified

i had installed bluestack app player and mega codec pack 9.4(it came with the files of the movie" on the road".and it showed i needed to install it to play the movie).

    this is all i remember.....

now the icons on the desktop are also gone....

  8. Stop spamming your thread, it will typically yield less help towards your problem.
  9. The first step I would take is to uninstall those programs you installed around the same time you started having this problem to see if one of them is the cause.
  10. i have uninstalled all the programs i installed at that time, but the problem still persists.

If you can't correct it with anti-malware/virus programs and Windows can't repair it, you may have to do a fresh install of Windows after backing up your files.
