Took ownership but windows says I need permission from myself

I just took ownership of my entire C:\ by using cmd "takeown /F C:\ /R /D Y" and now I own it, but Windows still refuses to let me delete any folder saying I need permission, from the user account that I am currently logged into. What.

  1. I have taken ownership already. The problem is I get a message saying that I need PERMISSION from myself (the same entity that shows up as having ownership of the file/folder).
  2. Try disabling Symantec Endpoint Protection or other AV software first.
  3. I have no antivirus software running.
