Forgive me if it's been asked before, but I'm going to be doing some work on some machines and I wanted to know before I started:

Can you use the AMD Stock cooler for an Athlon XP processor on a Socket A Duron or standard Athlon processor? I know the clips and lugs will be the same, but is there a difference for the contact area or design of it at all?

Thanks

If you get one of the new retail jobs, they run cooler and quieter, and dont seem to have the cheap retainer of the early models.
