Hi, I recently purchased a "Westinghouse 40" 1080p 120Hz LED-LCD HDTV LD-4080" when it was on sale but the sound quality was really bad. So then I purchased a set of USB powered speakers "Altec Lansing BXR1220 2.0 Speaker System" and connected the USB to the service port on the back of the TV.
So the whole reason I did that is because the USB port is powered by the TV so when the tv is off, the power to the usb ports would be cut, and when the TV is on the speakers would be on automatically, so I dont have to worry about turning on and off the additional set of speakers.
I mean those speakers are designed to be powered by a standard usb port so technically it should work fine right?

So my questions is that even though its "working" fine as an add on to the existing muffled speakers which came with the TV but I'm not sure if drawing power from the USB port for a set of speakers is bad for the TV.
