How to stop music coming from TV -Monitor. To sound system..again?

I've recently connected a TV to make a dual monitor using HDMI cable. My graphics card can handle it any everything but now the only sound comes out of my TV now and not my sound system.Anyone know how to change this? Thanks

what i do know for sure:
if you look through the setup options on most lcd televisions there is an option to disable onboard speakers.

i'm guessing here:
as for getting your sound system to work, once you disable those speakers if you still dont get anything i would try looking at your windows sound properties menu to see if things are kosher.
