Surprisingly, HP provides some literature on dismantling their printers but aimed mainly at simple servicing routines so much detail on capacitors etc may not be there.

Have a thorough look on the HP site or Google model number and something like disassembly. As capacitors always state their values on the pack and failures are easy to spot (though not always) through visible bulging or leakage should be possible for you.

I was able to take it apart, question: Is it likely that only one of the capacitors looks a like bulging and were is the uF size and voltage located on the broad or capacitor.

If it's bulging it's on the way out. Also check the end caps which should be flat not convex. The values of capacitors are generally printed on the plastic jacket. Safe bet is to mark which came from where on the board or a diagram and take them with you to retailer who will identify the correct replacements. As capacitors cost cents you might as well remove all and replace.

To ease removal without damaging the motherboard buy a solder pump.
