First i would ensure that your hard drive is fully mounted in the laptop, as these errors can occur from simply something like a loose data cable. Also make sure your HDD/SDD or whatever media that has the OS on it is the priority/first boot device in BIOS if it isn't al ready.
There is a chance the drive itself has gone bad as well, as this is also a common error when a drive fails. Are you able to try that drive in another system?. Also could be corrupted MBR (Master Boot Record).
