We had the white dot problem. We called mitsu's 800.332.2119#. They covered ALL but $200. As soon we got off the phone with them, the local authorized service company called, came out immediately and fixed the set- in about one hour! I gladly wrote the check and am very impressed with Mitsu's service. By the way, we do not have any coverage on the set. Do yourself a favor and call Mitsubishi's service.
Want to thank Mrbigmoneygrip for this post. You were right on with your fix. After reading your post, I called the 800 number and Mitsu did just as they did for you. TV was repaired today by a local tech for the $200 tech fee and the part was supplied by Mitsu. Thanks so much for posting your experience.
For what it's worth I have the white dot problem. I called Mitsubishi and they offered to replace the chip for $200 plus tax. They said it would be up to a week while they shipped the part to the local authorized service center.
