For reasons not worth going into, I'm using an Inspiron 8200 as a
dual-boot machine, with Windows 98 SE and the original Windows XP setup
on the same system.
It took a bit of work to find drivers, but I now have everything
working correctly in Windows 98 SE except the TrueMobile 1180 minipci
802.11b card. Does anyone know if Windows 98 drivers can be found for
this? (It uses a Broadcom chip.) I've thought of downgrading to an 1150
card, but would prefer not to spend the money if possible.
PLEASE don't waste bandwidth asking why I want to do this, and PLEASE
don't waste bandwidth telling me that I've voided the warranty. There
isn't any warranty on this machine anyway - it belongs to Dell, which
is lending it to my organization to use as a testbed. (My Dell contact
doesn't know of a Win98 driver for the 1180 either, but thinks it's
possible that one is out there somewhere).
