Dell (old familiar) vs Asus (new & unknown) - help!

Hello,
my much-loved Dell M1330 just got nicked, & i'm distraught. But also confused as to what to replace with..
I need 13-14" screen (good quality & res as i work in film, but don't need to edit just view); min 2GB RAM; portability & good battery life. Price? Shopping in pounds - no more than 800.
I've got it down to these 2 - they both fit all those criteria - just can't get any further:
Dell 13z Inspiron
Asus UL80VT

Have you seen this Asus UL80VT review over @ AnandTech? They mention the Dell Studio 14z as being equivalent.
