I just put my new computer together and it won't POST. The fans come on. The power light for the dimm slots come on. I tested the memory in another computer and it worked fine. My parts are:

2500+ Barton
Nforce2 Motherboard
512MB Patriot 2700 Ram
Geforce fx5600

The rest of the stuff is not plugged in.

What beeping noise does it make and what is the exact model of your motherboard?

There are a lot of things that will cause a computer to not boot. If you've got another computer available you should test each part of the new computer in the old one.

Don't worry. It's a very common problem to have, especially to people who are new to system building. Don't get frustrated, you'll figure it out.
