I recently re-installed Windows XP Pro. My main system drive is a SATA RAID
0. I also have two EIDE hard drives and two DVD burners. Every time I boot,
I get a 30-second prompt to the following message,

"Please select the operting system to start
Microsoft Windows XP Professional
MS-DOS"

How do I eliminate this message, so that I boot up straight into Windows XP?

When I first re-installed Windows I get the above message. When I
disconnected the EIDE cable to the EIDE hard drives and reformat the SATA
RAID 0 drives and re-install Windows again, the above message does not appear
during boot. But when I reconnected the EIDE cable the message re-appear.
So it seems that it is related to the EIDE hard drives.

Thanks for your help.

It sounds like the system partition (boot drive) shifts to one of the IDE
drives when they are connected. In any event, to eliminate the message:

Right click on My Computer and select Properties. Click the Advanced tab
and click the Settings button in Startup and Recovery. You can set the
timeout or edit out the MS DOS line altogether.
