I am building my PC, finally. I got a 160 SATA GB hard drive. I am going to install Windows XP Pro. In the near future, I will install Linux of some flavor.

1. How do I partition the drive?
2. Should I partition now or can I wait till I am ready for Linux to partition it?
3. Is there any truth to rumor that a drive this huge will make the PC boot up slowly if the OS is not installed on a small partition?
4. Do I choose FAT32 or NTFS?

Thanks.

Use your Windows install disk to create a partition for windows and leave enough for your linux.

1. windows xp can partition for u while installing but use partition magic to add more partitions later
2. u can wait if u use partition magic
3. well I have a 250gb and then my os is installed on my 80gb (both hds only have 1 main partition) and I did not notice any speed decrease?
4. NTFS. If your HDD is over 40gb NTFS I recommend
