Canon all-in-one how do I scan above 600dpi? Mg5250

Hello all,

I have an MG5250. I am trying to scan at resolutions above 600dpi and have tried everything I can think of. I have selected the "open scanner driver" in the options list and selected 1200dpi in the menu there, but I receive the following error message:

"Unable to scan. Image size exceeds 10001 x 10001"

I have had the same error message on 2 computers.

How do you guys scan at above 600dpi with a Canon all-in-one?

Same problem here with canon mg5250. Scanner Specs are 2400 x 4800 dpi but software doesn't let me scan above 600dpi. Im on windows 7.

Did you get any anwer from Canon?

Are you using the latest software? http://www.canon.co.uk/Support/Consumer_Products/products/Fax__Multifunctionals/InkJet/PIXMA_MG_series/PIXMA_MG5250.aspx?type=download&page=1

Try to lower the color and/or image size. Try to scan a small image. Also see if high res in black and white will scan OK. Seems like it's complaining about the size of the file or the image.
