When I switch on the computer, it goes to that screen asking whether i want
to start windows in the safe mode (w/ networking, w/ command prompt) or last
known good configuration or start windows normally. If I choose last known
good confg or normally it performs a disk check(blue screen) then a clicking
sound and it restarts. If I choose any of the safe modes a list of system
files comes on (drivers i think) then the clicking sound and restart. What do
i do- I cant open windows for a restore ( Im on my laptop). HELP!!!

That clicking sound you hear is commonly called "the click of doom" or "the
click of death".
Your hard drive is dying. If your computer is under warranty, call the
manufacturer.
If it is not under warranty, visit a reputable computer repair shop.
