hey guys i m a lot interested in gaming and have the nvidia gtx 460 graphic card and to emphasize the 768 mb version.
presently i have the 17 inch HP 7540 CRT monitor and wanna but a TFT monitor ..
could you suggest me which monitor to buy and how many inches and since my card is of 768 mb i cant have the high resolution monitors like 1920 x 1200
Please help me ..
i wanna buy closer to 21-24 inches..
also i have been given the HDMI cable free with the graphic card so as to use it for better clarity and graphics.
so will i need to buy a normal TFT or a one with the HDMI function??
how much is the cost difference??
please guys..
i m waiting for an answer.
Thank you for your support..

I am from india.
i have 4gb ram along with an i 7 core processor..
i had asked the price for the 21 inch TFT samsung monitor it was about 8.3 k and with the HDMI function it was 12.5k indian rupees
i think around 12.5k is affordable..
But will the HDMI bring some difference??

Having a monitor with HDMI connectivity will not improve clarity and graphics. The HDMI cable supplied with ur graphics card is for connecting HDTV & Audio receiver to ur PC.

But, still there are monitors available with HDMI connectivity.
You can buy Dell 24" monitor ("ultra sharp" one). It has HDMI connectivity.

and yeah.... i am an indian too ;)

So it's about 275 dollars, you can check the prices of u2311, u2410 and ZR24W in your country. In about a month i'm going to purchase the u2410.

so that means connecting the monitor via a normal cable and connecting the same monitor which has HDMI slot with an HDMI cable is the same???
how can it be?? pls reply
so then they should have not introduced the HDMI feature in the same monitor..
so which monitor is cheaper and has better performance samsung or dell??
will connecting the monitor via HDMI cable not improve graphics???
pls reply..

DVI and HDMI are equals, same quality except that hdmi will also provide sound!! That's it.
DVI digital signal NO sound, HDMI digital signal WITH sound.

so connecting a monitor via HDMI cable and via a normal cable is same??(ie it does not bring any changes in graphics)
that means i should buy a normal monitor despite having the HDMI cable??
pls reply..

As georgz said, dvi and hdmi are same except that hdmi can carry both video and sound. Whereas dvi only carries video.
HDMI cable can be used if u want to connect ur pc to HDTV via receiver.

So, there is no advantage in visual performance for monitor with hdmi connectivity.

Now, if u want 22'' monitor, then i recommend samsung. Or if u need bigger(23 or 24), then u can go for Benq or Dell.
About resolutions.... a typical 22 inch monitor will have max resolution of 1680 x 1050 and 24 inch monitor will have 1920 x 1080.
