I want to ask a few Questions that i am still confused of:

1)DO I have to change my CPU fan/cooler for my Batron 2500+ if i want to overclock it to 2.20 HZ ?
I am using the conventional fan (the one that comes with the Barton 2500+ Package)

2)Someone adviced me from these forums to use the Coolermaster Aero7+.
But the Coolermaster website mentions it that this fan/cooling solution is only for Athlon XP 3200+ and over. What does that mean?. Look at this:

Please help me to overclock my Barton. No matter how. I have VIA KT400 Chipset. AOpen AK77-8XN Motherboard with 1 Mhz step Overclocking. My Mobo has 133.166.200 FSB Jumpers. 1 GB DDR (512MBx2 Simpltech DDR @333 Mhz).MSI Geforce4 Ti4800SE (128MB)

"Someone adviced me from these forums to use the Coolermaster Aero7+.

Did not follow your link;but here goes..the 2500+barton and the 3200+barton are basically the same(except for clock speed,FSB,and heat generated),so when you overclock a 2500 you have a 3200 which must be cooled like one.Peopel have overclocked 2500 into 3200 with the retail HSF and others have done the same thing and had a meltdown...so how hot is it were you live?

I am running my xp2500+ at 179 X 12.5 with the stock hsf. It never goes above 50*c. I know I could go to 182 X 12.5, but then temps stay above 50. There is no hsf out there that runs as cool and quiet, so why change it. The options are as noisey as the fx5800 or worse. Since you have it try it, see what you get.

To get it there, you may have to up you voltage to it so I would suggest thermalright solutions. Like the SLK 947u or SP 97. That will keep that pig cool and stable so the chip will last longer. Just look at what I had to do to get my CPU to do 2.2ghz.

Barton 2500+ @ 2200mhz (10x220 vcore @ 1.8)
Asus A7N8X Dlx 440 FSB
1gb Geil GD pc3500 Dual Channel (2-3-3-6)
Segata 80gb SATA 8.5ms seek
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro(420/720)

The Coolermaster Aero7+ will probably work alright for what you will be doing. I have never used one, but if it says it's for 3200+ it should be ok. Basically you want your CPU temp. to be around 50C or less. Use only as much voltage as it takes to reach your goal (don't max your vcore unless you have to). Using less voltage if possible will really help keep your temps down. Take it slow and go incrementally. You could just set your CPU to 11x200, but it's usually a better idea to work your way up.

Longwinded way to say, IMO that cooler is alright. Use common sense so that you don't melt your Barton.

Good luck
