The heat sink for my XP 2000 was a pain in the arse to install. I nearly broke the damn thing trying to pull that notch down and up into the latch on the mobo with a screwdriver. You may or may not know what i'm talking about. Anyway, how does the install process compare on the Athlon 64.

Not looked into it, but I'm pretty sure they follow the P4 model, so the HS doesn't clip directly onto the socket but attaches to the motherboard so should be much easier.

You don't like some thrill...

Everything I put an Athlon XP in a new system, I'm so thrill to not break the CPU or the MB with my old yellow Craftman screwdriver!!! It's a guilty pleasure!

Putting the heatsink on my athlon 64 3200+ was the scariest thing i have ever done. The thing was complicated compared to the socket a's. It's actually easy if you do everything right, the retention arm has to be raised, for the stock cooler it doesn't look like it can be moved and I tend to ignore instructions. I finally found out it can be raised and it was good after that.
