CD-RW not detected in windows 98

After a while of not using my computer my cd-rw drive is not showing up in my computer but is showing as the secondary master in the bios. I have no idea what is wrong or what I did to cause this. Any help would be appreciated.

Check device manager to see if the secondary controller has the driver loaded.
