Does anyone have any recommendations for a handheld scanner?

I want to scan historical documents which are large and cannot be scanned using a flatbed scanner. I want the images to be as good quality as possible but cannot seem to find reviews of scanners.

The one I am currently thinking of getting is found here:
http://www.maplin.co.uk/portable-handheld-scanner-with-ocr-software-390393

Would this seem as good as any or is there something I should be looking for?

It is possible to scan part of a page on a flatbed, then the rest and stitch them together later.

Maplin ain't exactly the cheapest place to buy stuff and they do occasionally offer some less than wonderful products. I suspect you need to do some googling for some reviews of handheld models.

They were fashionable 10 or more years ago and probably proved unsatisfactory in operation.
