I found my DVD burning process is very slow. Even I use 8x Fuji disc, and
Liteon 1973S supports 16x, it takes +40 minutes to burn a whole disc. It
takes longer than normal. I believe the DMA mode is not "enable".

How can I enable the DMA mode for optical drive? Thanks

Open Device Manager and expand the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers branch. Double click the Primary or Seconday controller entry and go to the Advanced tab.

Locate your motherboard chipset drivers and install the latest ones. These
drivers usually contain the Ultra DMA drivers which will give you the
correct DMA drivers for your Windows. Also, may sure that the DVD burning
is connected to a UltraDMA 80 wire / 40 pin IDE cable (if the DVD burner is
IDE based).
