What are you using the computer for? shanky887614 March 21, 2012 8:56:35 AM sounds like an e2140. (core 2 duo with 1.6ghz speed) and it does sounds like that kind of age (just did a quick google and it looks like an e2140. i doubt there will be many core 2 duos in shops now) Related resources System Very slow due to Harddisk - Forum System crash, hardrive problem, very slow - Forum new system and very slow anyone know thanks - Forum If connect my system to domain it ll become very slow - Forum System is very slow. Applications just randomly freezing up or semi-freezing? That's most likely the memory. Check task manager to see if the memory is over 512MB. Applications and everything just loading slowly? Then it's most likely the hard drive. You can check whether the CPU is the bottleneck in the task manager. At the very least if I was stuck with that system for another 6 months I'd get more memory, because unless you're running some minimal Linux OS, it's very hard to stay under 512MB. hang-the-9 a b 8 Security a b å Intel March 28, 2012 6:22:19 PM Upgrade RAM to 2 gig, re-install Windows, will be speedy.
