New Athlon XP 2600 system help

if its 99 F, thats only 37.23Celsius, and that really is fine. xp 2600 should be 2.166ghz, as far as i know.

XP2000, 256ddr 2100ram, GF4 MX440, XP Pro

The cpu speed is set at 1250mhz now....I'm not sure if I should raise this up to a higher level or not. Some of the other things like the Freq. Multiple: 12.5x and the External freq.: 100/33

And when I got this the system was in pieces but the man at the show put the processor on the board for me and I didn't know that he was doing that. I'm not sure that he put any phase change material between the heatsink and the processor...should I remove the fan and heatsink and check?? I just don't want to break anything.

I raised the CPU Speed to 2083mhz which should be right according to the docs I found at AMD and should I set the memory speed or just leave it at auto??? And I noticed that the cpu temp jumped up to 46.5C after changing the CPU freq. this is at idle speed I know this processor has a max temp of 85C but should I be a little cooler then what I'm at now??

46 idle is fine. For the moment ignore ram timings, just enjoy the speed at stock
