MSN-520 latest broadband update gives me blue screen / IRQ..

Hello,
I have an IBM Thinkpad 390X and had the MN-520 wireless card
working perfectly for years. I had been keeping up to date with the
automatic microsoft broadband networking updates, but when I installed the
most recent critical update last week I immediately started having problems.
First, programs that try to access the card directly, such as netstumbler,
would quit immediately when opened. Now, my computer spontaneously
gets blue screens of death with the error STOP ...IRQ ERROR NOT LESS THAN
OR EQUAL, and then it reboots itself. This happens several times an hour by
itself and is expedited by opening a browser window or using the network at
all. I'm running windows 2000 and when I remove the card, the laptop works
flawlessly. There is no way to automatically remove the latest update, so I
tried unsinstalling MSBN entirely, and reinstalling the oldest drivers from the
CD, but I'm STILL having the same problems. I can't believe the latest
automatic update would cripple my system--very frustrating. Can anyone
help?
