Hp laserjet 6p out of memory

I am getting an out of memory message on my LaserJet 6p. any ideas?

Is it when you try to print graphics ?

Worth having a look at the manual for this printer as it may have a slot for adding memory -- though it's an oldie now and appropriate components may be hard to find.
