I was wondering after the result of Quake 3 on Win XP 64.As intel and SGi and big member of opengl consortium.It may take a while before a good opengl for AMD64.As i not much in grahic i was wondering if MS can make a makeover themself.

The openGL consortium defines the specs, but have nothing to do with the implementation. I see nothing intel or SGI could do to work against a AMD64 implementation. And for "64 bitness", both SGI and intel would have every interest in making OpenGL as 64 bit ready as possible (if there where such a thing), as they both want to sell Itanium workstations.

No expert on this, but IMHO it is obvious is the consortium just defines the specs (API's). its up to ISV and hardware vendors to deliver OpenGL compliant hardware and drivers (wether 32 or 64 bits, for x86 or MIPS, Sparc or PPC). So in this case, up to MS and/or ATI, nVidia..

After looking a bit it seen it the graphic supplier that must built the new API in 64 bit.SO that the driver job.
