Installed the Pinball Pro speaker system in my Whirlwind tonight -
finished with NO sound, just a hum. Tripple-checked installation
against instructions and can find no flaw - anybody else run into this?
My kit did not include any alligator clips (like the instructions asked
for) but the spades shuold have been fine. I'm a noob here (obviously)
but it seems to me that the original sound output cable that I
disconnected from the original speakers SHOULD have come into play
somehwere during the install....
Any guidance from fellow pin-heads would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hook it back up original and see if it will
work.
You may have damaged something during
installation, or the replacement speaker
damaged your sound board.
Check the resistance of the "new" speaker...

Move the cone of the PP speaker. If it makes a scratching noise or
seems to be contacting something (scraping) it is shorted out and has
cooked your sound board. Time for Clive and a call to Don at PP.

the positive and negative leads that come from the sound board and go
down to the speaker, you attached them to an L-pad or crossover network
that came with the woofer?

Check the sound volume on your game (I had mine down for some freak
reason and got the same effect). Thinking it was my wiring job I check
everything and had to change my mind thinking to the simple basics.

Thanks for all of the responses! The kit I received IS the correct
one, I reinstalled the old speakers and all works fine so nothing seems
to be damaged... Nothing was damaged during installation. Is it
correct that the only interface to the sound board is the SW plug?!
Doesn't seem right...

Just for the record, all is resolved. As expected it was human error,
I thought the plug went into the sound overlay board rather than the
sound board (duh). All is working great and rocks like a quarry!!!
Highly reccomend the upgrade to anyone interested.
