Im thinking about 500-800 dollar (5000 - 8000 swedish crown, kr), 1 USD = 7,76 Skr
2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
Heres the thing, I'd prefer a pretty light laptop and been looking at the Asus UL30VT-QX030V (Win-7 pro) 13,3". It wieghs only 1,7 kilos and therefor easy to carry but I dont know if it will fit my needs.
3_What screen resolution do you want?
Between 13-15,6". In pixels i dno
4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Not really. My desktop is fine. The laptop would be a portable workstation for the most part.
5_How much battery life do you need?
prefer 5 hrs+ when using it for writing and surfing only.
6_Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
I will mostly use it for work, using word, excel etc and surfing. But I would also like to watch some HD-movies and play some games like WC3 or perhaps Heroes of Newerth (HoN), the settings doesnt have to be great as long as it works. Also would be nice to use it for some easy programming too.
For more heavy gaming i will use my desktop.
7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing, watching movies, Etc.)
Look up , the Asus lacks a dvd-player that might be a problem.. will be an extra thing to carry if I use a portable one. Thats definetly something i think about.
8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?
Not much at all really. Id be perfectly fine with 200-300gb.
9_If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.
11_What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?
A blue-ray device would be nice tho, only needs to read. Not crucial.
12_Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.
I have never had my own laptop before but Ive been told that Acer is a great manufactor, but it does not matter that much. Id like some neat design tho
13_What country do you live in?
14_Please tell us any additional information if needed.
To sum this up: want a laptop that id like to be able to carry with me. Therefor the Asus is nice. But i dont know if the processor with 1,3ghz and the graphical device is enough for some extra entertainment!
I will not be editing any video or photos, atleast not now .
Btw I just watched a review on youtube from "Sweclockers" about this Asus machine. And it had some extra features where u could activate some extra power triggering the CPU (up to 1,7 ghz) and the graphic unit aswell. This would make it able to play some games on lower standards like CoD:mwf2 and play hd-content w/o problems. Also has a 9 hr battery time when you run it in "saveing" mode. So I will go for this one!
