Hi all,

I have a problem with my modem. When I try to dial out I get NO DIALTONE but
I know the line is good because ringing is detected by the modem, I get the
RING message. If I listen to the line on an extension while I dial, I can
hear a click as the modem tries to pick up the line. I've tried resetting it
to factory defaults but no joy. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Trevor.

Try switching off "wait for dialtone" in your modem properties? (On XP,
you'll find it in the Phone and Modems control panel, Modems tab... once
you're there, select your modem from the list, click Properties, and
you'll find the checkbox in the Modem tab of the ensuing dialog.)
