Hi,
The following is to let you know, that we have posted some pics on how
we see, for now, the new architecture so PinMame-HW can drive
eventually a scoreboard, lamps in Matrix and DMD.

I was always interested in this... Although I don't see anything new on
the site? Last there like 4 months ago...

Hi,
If you look in the PinMame-Hw forum we are now planning to use a
microcontroller to unload PinMame-HW.
This Microcontroller will allow us to drive lamps / Solenoids in
matrix, Lamps / Solenoids in linear arcitecture in order to also
support older pinball, then to control scoreboard and eventually DMD.
We have choosen a simple design but powerfull enough to help PinMame-Hw
to concentrate on emulating the pinball.
Right now we just need to finish to full proof the desing and then to
begin to develop new coding in PinMame-Hw and more specifically in the
Microcontroller.
We really hope that this new approach will do the job.
This approach is inspired from actual pinball architecture to gain
efficiency. The goal of this architecture is to be modular and to allow
us to support as much pinball as possible.
I see you are looking at Atmel processors. Those are the ones I have
started playing with for the next generation. I like the hardware,
tools, support and general acceptance of these processors. Good luck.
BTW I bought my AVR parts from Optimal Microsystems in Montreal.
