How do i take a picture with my webcam on my desktop with windows 7

I have a desktop with a Vimicro USB Camera, how do I take pics with it?

If the cam camera is not mounted into the framework and can be moved around,
try downloading a particular freebee program that has snapshots in mind?

Else, use the 'PRINT' on the keyboard. It's supposed to take a snapshot of the desktop?
Where it's put into the 'Clipboard'?

All the ones I've fouind avg says has a virus in them. Can you recomend one?
