I am considering getting a 32inch tv instead of a computer monitor for mmo gaming. The TV's I am looking at are 1080i and say they hve a resolution of 1920x1080.

So my question is as far as resolution goes for gaming will the tv monitor's resoluton be as good as the smaller computer monitor?

I know there are other consideration like contrast ratio and refresh rate, but I have heard that the tv's have lower resolutions than computer monitors. Is this true even if the tv says it is 198x1080...the same as the computer monitor?

TVs no longer necessarily have lower resolution. If your monitor is 1920x1080, then a 1080p TV will have the same resolution. There are monitors with higher resolution, like 1920x1200, 2560x1440, or 2560x1600, but they're less common than 1920x1080 monitors, and often more expensive.

Awesome, it seems easier to get a 32+ tv with 1920x1080 resoution than a computer monitor. I would be happy with a 1080 resolution as it is better than i have now and like you said the 2560x1600 seems way out of my price range...if you can even find them...they seemed to be about $1000 dollars. Thank you for the response.
