Just check out my guts below for what I got and runnin. I got a Thermalright slk947u HSF with enermax 92mm (56.3cfm) fan and it runs 50c to 53c. Its been stable for months at the 1.8 setting so far just quite hot. Just wonderin if others got lower and how. Thanks...

I have been running my xp2400 for almost a yeay at that voltage and approx temps. Obviously lower temps are desirable but I don't see a problem.

If I glanced at a spilt box of tooth picks on the floor, could I tell you how many are in the pile. Not a chance, But then again I don't have to buy my underware at Kmart.

Yes I did get hosed for such a good stepping, but Id bet its this mobo that wont do the higher multiplier to get higher clocks.

My wife's 2800+ set to 180 in BIOS equals 3000+ in Aida32 or actual speed of 2.25 GHz is running at 24c for Motherboard and 38c for CPU and 44c for CPU Diode readings as reported at the desktop using Aida32.

This is at the desktop but when running a game that she plays in OpenGL the temps rise to 28c/46c/55c respectively and that is what I think you see at the BIOS with no CPU loading so it cant be a good thing for a XP 2500+.

If you are reading your temps from the BIOS I would say you are a little hot but your voltage is set high as well turn it down to 1.7 or back to 1.6 no need to crank it up... its not helping you at all for performance because you are trading speed for heat and the heat is wining at this point.

The 2800+ is currently set to a voltage core of 1.7 from the default 1.6 but seems to be handeling the heat very well. We also have a good CPU cooler on it as well as extra case fans.

2500-3200xp are all pretty much the same chip. As long as it's a barton.
How many people with a 3200 do you know that can have it go passed 2.4ghz? I can run my 2500 at 220 fsb without problems with 11 time multiplier. At 1.8vcore.
But i am afraid to keep it there, just becuase it seems that it's the edge of the cpu's limit. At least from what i've read.

But i've heard people having troubles running it at 218fsb and can't hit 220.

Figured i'd do it too..reality my ass.

Doesn't seem bad to me with vcore @ 1.8. I'm hearing some of those heatsinks could use a little lapping. Maybe next time you've got it off you could check the surface if you haven't already

my 2500 barton is running at 3200 speeds,2200mhz, with cpu temps stable at 39c idle and 43c loaded, with stock amd fan and heatsink, i wasnt able to do this until i upgraded my power supply to 450 watts, was running 300 watt generic before, no running a real pc power brand, dual fans and adjustable speeds on the fans. so make sure you got a good power supply too.

If I break the 200 barrier, I would have to keep the multiplier down to 10 or I can boot into windows properly.
