You will need the original discs to install on a different machine

What kind of software, the OS?

You CAN NOT install any Windows products on more than one machine! Well, actually, you CAN NOT activate any Windows products on more than one machine. It violates the End-User-License-Agreeement.

Or, are you talking about a software package that came with, and is on, a laptop?
The same MIGHT apply. Software bundles usually won't install on another machine.

Try the temp folders (although i doubt they'll have the package).. try copying the installed directory to the other computer.. It might work even without valid registry entries..

No..The software is from Microsoft. I verified the folder is not in the TEMP folders. I thought I may be able to save the installer package to aUSB stick...similar to downloading and saving a version of AVG to a USB stick...then run it on a PC.
