ok i've just upgraded my pc (to whats below) and i get fine cpu arithmatic and multimedia values for sisoftware sandra but low memory bandwidth. i think this is due to the ram. using CPUID i see that the ram's working at 200mhz (400 DDR) but its CAS latency is 2.5. i have set it to 2 in bios but it still reports as 2.5 could this be the reason?
also i get:
low botmatch marks in ut2003 and fine flyby marks.
low 3dmark score (around 5800 should be getting 6300).
any suggestions?

When I just finished my new system a few weeks back, I had similar specs AND results as you. My problem was that my chipset drivers were not updated. Who knew? Duh. Anyway, go to Intel's site and get the latest (I think 5.0 or something version .inf file). my Aquamark score went from 19,000 to 51,000!!! hope this helps

ok i tried updating the chipset drivers...but no luck.
i get for memory bandwith:
int: 4370 should be: 4924
float: 4384 should be: 4932
(i got these from THG they used the same system as mine they got the same as me on multimedia and arithmatic but they got higher memory bandwith).
i think this is causing the low ut2003 and 3dmark scores.

alright, enough of the synthetic benchmarks. download the aquamark 3 benchmark and run it. make sure the settings are at default and nothing running in background. what is your score? Next, this message board freakin rocks but so does the Aquamark3.com message board. Those folks are, too, more than willing to get your scores up.

i tried aquamark 3 got 43,000 should be 44,500 not a lot lower, but games do run slower than they should, and thats what i want to improve.

sean, you are not doing all that bad, bro. really. have you went into your control panel and turned all of your video card settings to max perfomance NOT QUALITY then try Aquamark 3? Honestly though, (you probably don't want to hear this), but you aren't doing all that bad. Take me and my original 19,000 on Aquamark 3. THAT WAS BAD. You seem to be at the point of needing the usual tweaking of your system to squeeze some more juice out of it. you O/c? you may not think it's worth it. but your 3.2 may be able to get to 3.5. My 3.0 gets 3.5 with air cooling. A LOT of air cooling. plus by going to 3.5, your bus speed would jump from 800mhz to 880mhz (220fsbXquadpump). Bet your Sandra scores would like that boost! So your whole memory subsystem would speed up to. If you got at least 466mhz memory or possibly super high quality 433mhz overclockers memory, decent motherboard, you should be fine to o/c. And your video card!! Should be able to o/c to the and even faster than my 9800XT stock levels. So much room to play. So much room.

i dont really wanna overclock brand mew components. its not the benchmark scores im bothered about, i should be getting better fps in games than what im getting. in ut2003 i should be getting an extra 15fps so its around 70 not 55 on bigger maps. and in unreal 2 it runs much slower than it should

ok i used to get 55fps out of ut2003 when i had a P4 2.0 and ti4200 and im not really seeing any difference with my current system i should be getting 70 not 55-60fps. unreal 2 should play fine on max details but its not, its like 35-40 in the tutorial (map with just one AI shooting at you).

i really think its the ram speed as benchmarks on the CPU and graphics card are as expected.
