Do you only want a 17" laptop ? or are you considering 15 or other sizes too ?

Hi there,

You may also want to check out the Alienware M15x. It has NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 240M graphics and a super fast 2.8 GHz Intel® Core™ i7-720QM processor.

What do you think of the Alienware?

But G73 has a 5870M which blows away a GT 240M.
For M15x,i would choose HD 5850M for gaming

Im really ok with any size preferably 15"+ but I want a resolution of 1920×1080 for full HD videos

@IsabellaWinTe wow that alienware seems way overpriced. Right now I think the G73 is still looking like the better choice. An $350 for 8gbs ram, thats insanity. The G73 has 8GB DDR3 ram and its so much cheaper than the m15x

Hi, how about Qosmio X505-Q870 or Qosmio X505-Q880? I personally love its design and power:
* Intel® Core™ i7-720QM processor
* Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
* 4GB (6GB) DDR3 1066MHz memory
* 500GB HDD (7200rpm)
* 1GB GDDR5 NVIDIA® GeForce® GTS 360M

That's good too but ASUS G73 has a HD 5870M which performs better than a GT 360M by a significant margin

Hi Scione,

Alienwares tend to be expensive gaming laptops. I just wanted to provide it as an alternative suggestion to consider since it hadn't been mentioned in the discussion. Have you settled on the G73? I hope you enjoy it!

Yes I think I have decided on the G73. Thanks guys for the alternatives. They helped me see that the G73 is probably the best bang for the buck right now.
