I know it's possible.. but are there any retailers i could purchase all the needed components?
Such as the shell? Battery... etc.
Any help would be great.

45.5k mark? 85 dollars went a long way. So did that extra 15 dollars for cooling my video card.

Buildable laptops are more like a semi-complete kit. They should include the board, battery, display (perhaps with choices), keyboard, etc. The "builder" specifies the optical drives, and buys a hard drive and CPU. That's about it as far as "custom built" laptops.

Crashman, where can you purchase these kits? I was thinking of building an Athlon 64 killer laptop.

I don't know, they're special deals for system builders direct from white lable manufacturers like Aopen.
