hi
iv been thinking of getting an xp2700 or an xp3000. to put in my new system, however iv heard that if i get an xp2500 it can be easily overclocked to an xp3200.
Is this true and if so is it difficult and will it cause much heat problems.
id apreciate some help

With an nforce mobo, it is usually no big deal. I know a few people who have just adjusted the fsb to 200, and that's it. This is not guaranteed. Iwould recommend you up the fsb a little slower. Steps of 4 to 5 mhz is ok. Check stability between steps.You may have to bump the core voltage to 1.7v.
If you want even more perf, a lot of people have been having great success with the mobile xp2500 on the desktop mobos. They run at least 100 mhz faster than the xp3200+, and people have been able to get to 2.7 gigs on air.
As far as heat goes with the normal xp2500+, the stock hsf is usually good to xp3200+ speeds, though a better thermal solution does help.

use the abit nf7 or nf7-s from newegg with a mobile xp barton-they can overclock to 200mhz+above the xp3200 at fsb of 400 or greater and all the mobile bartons are unlocked and take heat better than any other barton,note there were earlier versions of these boards which did not use dual channel ram-so just buy the ones from newegg which do use DC DDR.
