Hello,
On windows 7/64 bit Pro the zoombrowser can not detect the camera for photo down load. Same zoombrowser and camera ( SD500) worked fine with XP last three years. Just updated zoombrowser to 5.2. No help.

Download ZoomBrowser EX Updater for Windows Vista/7 (6.5.1) from the Canon website:

Compatibility:
Operating system(s):

Windows 7 32bit, Windows 7 64bit, Windows Vista 32bit, Windows Vista 64bit
Language(s): English

This works fine for me (SD1000/W7-64)

Yes, I've tried all the usb ports, same problem. The usb ports are active because flash drives work.

Also I've tried to down load zoombrowser 6.5.1 from Cannon, but they mention download new zoombrowser 6.5.1 (here) and all I see is other downloads to search your PC for file problems. etc. Seems like many web sites offer "bait and switch" tactics nowadays.

Thanks for the help. But that didn't work. After countless hours of fighting this I've caved in and let Windows import my photos from this same camera, USB cord and USB port To hell with Zoombrowser. Cannon makes wonderful equipment but why on earth didn't Cannon get together with Microsoft on the software to be compatable before releasing Windows 7. Why can't Microsoft be a team player with the Industry and be compatable instead of playing God and everyone else is at their mercy?
