According to the latest info available (<A HREF="http://www.anandtech.com/cpu/showdoc.html?i=1985" target="_new">link</A> ), S939 CPUs are going to be introduced in May. And yes, there will be S939 motherboards featuring PCI Express by that time.

But current graphic cards won't be able to efficiently utilize the bandwidth provided by pci express.

A fine day!

Yup, PCI express is Intel built in obsolescence. We are only barely using AGP 4X, so AGP 8X is twice as fast as we can use. PCI 16X express is twice as fast as AGP 8X, or four times as fast as current video cards can use.
Thankyou Intel for cramming more crap down our throats.

From a technology point though PCI-X is a good move. The fact that video cards can't use this bandwith comes more down to the video card manufactures I would think. Since they are the ones responsible for bus usage.

As for the Intel shoveing more crap down your throat issue, just don't buy it.

PCI-X is a great thing. When it becomes available at 1X and 2X PCI express will also be good.
However the interconnect speed offered (in duplex no less) for video cards is not going to be usable for a few years at earliest.
