I lost my cd rom driver how can i get it back?

Is the CDROM seem in the BIOS? if it is then the problem is a Windows one and you need to run the troubleshooter program. If the BIOS does not see the CDROM then the problem is a hardware one. On laptops it is very common to have a bad connection with the connector to the CD ROM. To fix this remove the single screw that holds the CD drive, remove the drive and refit.
