Ibm thinkpad x31 windows-7 recovery

Hello,
My laptop froze 2 mos ago. I could not even use Ctrl/Alt/Delete. so I unplugged it. when i plugged it back i, started it, a black pg that told me my DIs files were missing. A tech told me the O.S. would not work without them.

He gave me a CD to download Ubuntu O.S. free. its working, but not as good as the windows-7 I had.
(*) Can you tell me HOW to get my windows-7 back?
I'd be grateful for the help, Josh

since it doesn't come with windows 7. you need to do repair install with the windows 7 dvd.
