there is (was?) someone selling a nip it BG in a frame on ebay. I was
in the same boat as you guys mine was cracked down the middle, I found
one on ebay in a frame and won the auction, good thing it was in the
frame too as the seller had NO CLUE how to ship a BG, he put tons of
bubble wrap in the center and didn't protect the edges at all. There
was a little chip out of a corner (actually was there before it went
into the frame) so I'm happy, I tried to tape and save the old
backglass, but I had to break it even more to get it out of the game.

The nip-it glasses are un-tempered, hence "Cracks down the middle".
Thats why you only had a chip out of the corner instead of a broken
glass.

no, the chip was out of the corner and the glass was cracked in the
middle because the dealer it was bought at before I bought it from that
buyer hit the guy's car door edge while he was loading it. A crack
down the center of a glass is still broken glass. Itty bitty pieces?
No, not until later. The guy shipping the glass still had no clue how
to ship it, untempered or not - you don't ship a piece of glass by
jamming tons of bubble wrap in the center only. Even untempered glass
needs its edges protected.
