Hi there,

You should check out the Dell Studio 15. It has a fast processor, 4 GB of RAM and a 15.6" screen. It also fits within your budget.

I tried to follow the link to the Toshiba but it is broken. Can you repost it? I am happy to help and make further suggestions!

Cheers,

Whatever laptop you get, consider replacing the hard drive with a SSD. I recently installed a intel X25-V 40gb drive and a clean install of windows-7. The difference in performance is impressive. The install took about 15gb.

Not sure why it's not working, but it is this laptop at $630.

Hi there,

The Toshiba looks like a very comparable laptop. It has very similar specs to the Dell I suggested. However, it looks the Toshiba has better battery life and a slightly larger screen. As a result, the Toshiba is heavier and less portable than the Dell. It is a trade-off. What do you think?
