Easiest way to achieve this is to place a shortcut to the program on the
start menu in the All Programs->Start folder. Right click on the start
button and select Open. From there open the Programs folder and then
the Startup folder. Place the shortcut to the program in that folder
and it will run automatically when you log on.

The easiest way is to simply place a shortcut to the program in the Start/All Programs/Startup folder.

Hi Pete,

I would like to add to what Tom Porterfield and Ronnie Vernon said. I like
to make a fold I call Startnot. If I decide I do not want certain items to
open on start, but may want it later, I just slide the item from Startup to
Startnot. You are then able to just slide it back later, if you want it.
Also, if you put an item in the Startup of All Users, the item will
automatically start for all users of your computer. If you put the item in
the Startup, under "your name", it will start up for just you and not other
users of your computer.

Maybe see what happens if you put a shortcut to a program in your user
startup folder... path is something like;
C:\Documents and Settings\mike\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
