Windows 7 Sending attachments from applications using Gmail

Hello, I recently got a new computer with Windows 7. The only email I use is my Gmail account. I am trying to send an attachment directly from Excel but get an error message. Does anybody know if I can send an attachment this way without having a 2nd email address?

That should open up a new Outlook email - is that what happens? Where in the process are you getting the error message, and what is its exact text? Feel free to take a screenshot if that's easiest.
